Applied AI Engineer

• Guide customers through their entire product journey from initial implementation and technical onboarding to production deployment.
• Build custom demos and prototypes that showcase how AssemblyAI's models can solve specific customer use cases.
• Lead technical discovery sessions with prospects and customers to understand their requirements and design optimal implementations.
• Assist with competitive evaluations by providing benchmarks and designing fair comparison tests.
• Troubleshoot production issues for customers using streaming and async APIs.
• Provide technical guidance on architecture, scaling, data privacy, and API integration best practices.
• Create proofs-of-concept that demonstrate Speech AI capabilities.
• Travel to customer sites for technical workshops and relationship building.
• Serve as the voice of the customer to Product and Research teams, providing feedback from real-world use cases.
• Contribute to documentation, guides, and example code for API integration.
• Identify patterns in customer issues and work with Engineering to address root causes.
• Collaborate with Sales and Success teams for smooth customer experience handoffs.
• Stay current on AI/ML developments and experiment with new use cases.

• Located in or willing to relocate to New York City or San Francisco.
• 4+ years of customer-facing experience in highly technical environments, with strong software engineering skills.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with web APIs, WebSockets, and real-time data streaming.
• Understanding of audio fundamentals or willingness to learn.
• Ability to leverage AI tools creatively to move quickly.
• Problem-solving mindset and comfort with fast-paced work.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10-25% of the time).

Pay range: $150K - $250K
