Senior Backend Engineer (Rails)

• Build and maintain scalable backend services using Rails.
• Process background jobs using Sidekiq.
• Handle caching and queue using Redis.
• Design PostgreSQL schema and optimize queries for database performance.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues for improved system reliability.
• Engage with VA Platform One and adhere to VA.gov standards as needed.
• Bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Prioritize and manage dependencies in complex environments.
• Work in Agile development environments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Extensive expertise in Rails.
• Deep experience with Sidekiq and Redis.
• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL schema design and database performance.
• Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving production issues.
• Familiarity with VA Platform One, VA.gov standards, or DevSecOps is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage dependencies in complex environments.
• Experience in Agile development environments.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Pay range: $120K - $155K
