Senior Engineering Manager, Non-Linear Productivity

  • Define and refine the operating model for non-linear productivity.
  • Identify and prioritize productivity opportunities across the SDLC.
  • Translate broad mandates into a concrete roadmap for a pilot window.
  • Personally source and select 4 exceptional engineers for a pilot team.
  • Negotiate allocation models with engineers' current EMs.
  • Set technical direction and working norms for the team.
  • Mentor engineers in root-cause diagnosis and shift-left thinking.
  • Lead investigation to baseline metrics such as MRPM, pipeline success rate, etc.
  • Diagnose friction points affecting metrics and validate with data.
  • Design and implement fixes that include shift-left changes, tooling investment, etc.
  • Own high-impact friction areas, ensuring fixes are adopted and tracked.
  • Report metric movements honestly and develop playbooks for organizational adoption.

Experience

  • Track record leading high-autonomy engineering teams, ideally in productivity or CI/CD fields.
  • Deep comfort with CI/CD and build systems.
  • Root-cause problem-solving instinct and talent prioritization over headcount.
  • Experience operating under metrics-driven accountability.
  • Strong executive-level communication skills.
  • Nice to have: Experience with AI-assisted development workflows.
  • Nice to have: Experience running a pilot or 0 to 1 initiative.

Salary and Perks

Pay range: $190K - $245K
