Software Engineer, Agent Experience

• Drive the agent experience and treat coding agents as a first-class user of AssemblyAI.
• Build and maintain agent skills for core products (Speech-to-Text, Real-time, Dictation, etc.).
• Extend the AssemblyAI MCP server and facilitate agent and MCP auth.
• Develop machine-readable docs and code samples for agents.
• Improve system prompts and instructions.
• Build evaluations and benchmarks for coding agents.
• Scale successful strategies across products.
• Utilize AI tools as a core part of work and assist engineering teams with agents.

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid full-stack fundamentals in Javascript and/or Python.
• Daily, hands-on experience with coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) and curiosity about their success.
• Experience writing prompts and agent instructions, and an interest in performance measurement.
• Product sense for developer-facing work.
• Clear technical writing skills.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a bias to ship in a new discipline (AX).

Pay range: $160K - $210K
