Provide strategic and technical leadership to the engineering team, ensuring alignment with the overall business goals and objectives. Develop and communicate the engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in software development methodologies, project management, quality assurance, and release management.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with engineering projects and operations. Implement robust security practices and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Define and maintain the technology stack and software/hardware architecture to support scalability, reliability, and performance.
Oversee data collection, warehousing, analytics, and visualization initiatives to ensure the organization leverages data as a strategic asset.
Manage and mentor a diverse team of engineers, including software developers, hardware engineers, quality assurance professionals, and technical project managers.
Collaborate with other functional leaders, such as product management, growth, operations, and marketing, to ensure seamless integration of engineering efforts with other business functions.
Define talent acquisition strategies and lead recruitment efforts to attract top engineering talent. Develop and execute comprehensive training and development programs.
Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data quality, system efficiency, and user engagement.
Participate in strategic planning meetings with product management, digital experience, data, and design teams.

Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
15 + years of full-stack engineering experience, and 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role within an engineering organization
7+ years of experience in managing and scaling engineering teams, including remote and distributed teams
Ability to travel on a quarterly basis for meetings and team meetups in the NYC office
Strong technical background in software development (Backend/Frontend/Mobile) processes within the eCommerce space
Experience in product development, preferably in a fast-paced technology-driven environment
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts
Strategic mindset with the ability to think long-term and make data-driven decisions
Knowledge of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in software and hardware engineering
Hands on experience with delivering solutions on cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure)
Hands on experience building application with AI/ML
Experience building mobile apps with iOS, Android. Flutter experience is desirable
Experience with Magento/Adobe Commerce is desirable
Open source software development languages & frameworks like React, JavaScript, mysql, nginx/php web server development, Redis, Scala etc
