  • Manage the end to end payroll process, including the application of processes and policies to ensure accurate payment of both weekly and biweekly payrolls.
  • Manage all payroll operations, including pay changes and audit controls.
  • Be the primary point of contact for all employee payroll questions.
  • Work closely with Accounting for proper recording of payroll activity to the general ledger.
  • Ensure accurate processing of all special pay items such as termination pay, severance, garnishments, holidays, promotions, merit increases, employee time off policies, stock transaction tax recordings, and more.
  • Drive process improvements aimed at increasing efficiency and compliance and assess opportunities for process automation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  • Own and manage our state payroll tax compliance, including state tax registrations, regular state tax fillings, unemployment accounts, and withholding setups.
  • Execute and update payroll processes and workflows in a way that produces clear documentation of controls for external audits.
  • Maintain and update general ledger codes associated with employees in the payroll system.
  • Work with the People Team to reconcile issues on the weekly & biweekly payroll logs and other pay items such as Leave of Absence pay schedules, quarterly bonuses, spot bonuses, sign on bonuses, benefit cost share changes from life events, etc.
  • Manage benefit vendor funding for 401k, FSA, and HSA deductions.
  • Continually integrate AI processes into your workflow and to simplify IT for the organization.

Experience

  • 4 years experience processing payroll in a non-PEO environment, with an in-depth understanding of payroll processes and state, local and federal laws related to payroll administration.
  • Experience reviewing and auditing timecards in a non-exempt time tracking system for errors, missed punches, no pays, etc.
  • Experience ensuring that pay rules such as overtime, time off, and holiday policies, benefits deductions, and garnishments are properly applied in the Payroll system.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, data visualization, etc.)
  • Dayforce experience is strongly preferred
