Produce Category Lead

• Lead the strategic development and management of Hungryroot’s Fresh Produce category.
• Partner with R&D and Culinary teams to bring new product concepts to life.
• Identify and source innovative brands and products.
• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from planning to in-market performance management.
• Leverage data and insights to guide category strategy.
• Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives.
• Steer long-term assortment health.
• Build and manage supplier relationships.
• Ensure category compliance and quality.
• Collaborate to ensure product availability and healthy inventory.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams on packaging and promotions.

• 5+ years of experience in Fresh Produce category management, buying, or merchandising.
• Deep familiarity with the Fresh Produce category.
• Experience in product development or private-label innovation is preferred.
• Proven negotiation and project management skills.
• Experience building vendor partnerships.
• Knowledge of retail and eCommerce food safety standards.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Effective cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Agile and solutions-oriented mindset.
• Self-motivated and proactive communication style.
• Passion for food, health, and wellness.
• Familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite, Airtable, or Looker is a plus.

Pay range: $100K - $130K
